We are both from Romania and we have known each other for 20 years. Those living in Eastern Europe are well aware of the benefits of Salt Therapy which is otherwise known as Spelotherapy or Halotherapy.

In Eastern Europe visiting salt mines/caves is very common and is viewed as a relaxing leisure activity to engage in with family and friends. In Romania there are many natural salt mines/caves. When we lived in Romania, we regularly visited salt mines/caves in order to build our immune systems or to treat particular ailments. When we originally came to Ireland we were surprised to find no such facilities here.

Before we opened Kilkenny Salt Therapy in February 2017, after living over the last 10 years in Ireland, we realized that due to the climate in Ireland, lots of people suffer from respiratory problems such as Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis and COPD. In fact, approx. 1,200 children and adults in the Ireland suffer from Cystic Fibrosis and at least 440,000 people in Ireland have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and we want to help minimizing these figures.

Our goal is to help people improve their respiratory hygiene, as well as reducing the symptoms of asthma, allergies and COPD, improve their immunity as well as help reduce the symptoms of skin issues like eczema, psoriasis and the ravages of modern life.

Kilkenny Salt Therapy is the ONLY operator in Ireland who has created Salt Rooms clad with real salt shipped in from natural salt mines of 200 meters in depth,Himalayan Salt and Pharmaceutical Salt.  Pharmaceutical grade dry salt is broken down into kinetically active, micro-particles of 3-5 microns by our cutting edge medical grade Halogenerators and dispersed into an enclosed environment so that it reaches every  part  of  the respiratory system, especially the very fine alveoli of the lung. This mimics the natural environment of a salt cave.

There is no other Salt Therapy facility in Ireland combining these three elements except Kilkenny Salt Therapy.

We offer the best possible alternative experience to visiting Natural Salt Mines in Ireland.

Our Salt Rooms uniquely reproduce from a physical, chemical and biological perspective the climate of Natural Salt Mines providing the optimal environment for people that are suffering from different respiratory and skin conditions to alleviate their symptoms

The mineral salt particles that are inhaled will accelerate mucus clearance, detox (purify) the lungs and it will reduce bronchial inflammation therefore improving quality of life and it also boosts the immunity system

There are no microbes or allergens in our Salt Rooms and this allows the body’s immune system to rest during treatment whilst the salt particles convert positive ions into negative ions, which is vital in strengthening the body’s immune system.

Here are the results of the surveys on therapeutic effects of “halotherapy chamber with artificial salt-mine environment” ( room build with salt and add-on of cutting edge generator, that crush pharmaceutical salt in small particle and blows them into the room) on patients with certain chronic allergenic respiratory pathologies and infectious-inflammatory pathologies.

After the specific halotherapy treatment on patients with bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive bronchopneumopathy, which also showed other chronic, infectious-inflammatory and allergic respiratory pathologies, triggering of anti-inflammatory (and also anti allergic) mechanisms and healing effects on inflammatory process were noted. Data acquired also proved the halo therapeutic effect causing the reduction of sensitiveness of body in patients with bronchial asthma.

We also are the ONLY Salt Therapy in Ireland Accredited by Business All- Star 2 years in a row , winner of Micro Business Awards , and proud member of Salt Therapy Association.

We are built on a passionate mission to help people breathe better naturally and to improve respiratory health, hygiene and immunity.
